During your shockwave session at WIN Health Performance Centre, your WIN Health Chiropractor, will select the intensity, depth and duration of your physiotherapeutic shockwave treatment. Your WIN Health Chiropractor will decide on either a radial or focused device for your treatment based on your needs.
Depending on the type of shockwave applicator being used, you may hear a “clicking” sound during your treatment; this is the projectile being pushed vigorously against the head of applicator and emitting a series of “shockwaves” through your injured tissue. Some patients may experience slight discomfort during their treatment, depending on the area(s) treated. This discomfort is likened to a mild aching or pulsating sensation. Your chiropractor will communicate with you to ensure you are tolerating your treatment well.

Shockwave therapy can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, but the research shows the highest efficacy in treating calcifications and tendinopathies. These include:
