Chiropractic Laser Therapy
As you sat there, feeling the sharp pain in my knee, you couldn’t help but feel discouraged. You had always been an active person, but this injury was holding you back.
You tried everything to get the inflammation in your knee down, from ice packs to over the counter pain medicine, but nothing seemed to work. That’s when you decided to visit your chiropractor at WIN Health.
During your visit, your chiropractor offers you laser therapy. The laser was painless, and you could feel a gentle warmth on your knee.
Your chiropractor explains that laser therapy also reducing inflammation and promotes healing.
Your knee feels good, and although you know it can take some time to mend, you are happy you called for your visit. Taking active steps in your healing, like having laser therapy to calm the inflammation, helps you feel empowered!
What Is Chiropractic Laser Therapy?
Chiropractic laser therapy can help you experience less pain and swelling. This can also help increase range of motion. Through specific therapeutic wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared), laser therapy helps to increase repair of injured or inflamed areas.
At our Niagara Falls clinic we utilize Class IV laser therapy and our WIN Chiropractors are professionally trained in laser therapy techniques.

With Laser Therapy
Decrease Pain & Inflammation
There are many benefits to incorporating laser therapy to your chiropractic treatment plan at WIN Health Performance Centre, Niagara Falls.
Laser therapy is non-invasive and a pain free treatment. It has a strong anti-inflammatory effect which can lead to a decrease in pain as well as swelling.
What Is Laser Therapy?
You will be assessed by your WIN Chiropractor to determine if laser therapy is the right choice for your injury, and make sure you don’t have any contraindications to being treated with laser.
Your WIN Chiropractor will make sure everyone in the room is wearing protective eye glasses and decide on duration, intensity (depending on where the injury is), and the intended depth of penetration. The laser does not touch the skin, but will come close to it and the wand will be moved in vertical and horizontal motions across the area of injury. You may feel gentle heat during your session around the area(s) being treated.
What Conditions Can Be Helped?
You can have laser therapy for both new and old injuries. Here are some examples:
– Pain due to arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, sprains, strains, and muscle injuries
– Inflammation due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis
– Soft tissue injuries such as ligament tears, tendon injuries, and muscle strains
– Wound healing (injuries or post surgical)
– Sports-related injuries such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, runner’s knee, and Achilles tendonitis
– Nerve pain like in conditions such as neuropathy or neuralgia
Can Laser Therapy Help Me?
Laser therapy is a safe and gentle treatment that can be customized to meet your unique needs.
Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, inflammation, or a sports injury, laser therapy can help you get back to living your best life.
What Does Laser Therapy Do?
Laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy or cold laser therapy, involves the use of low-power lasers to deliver light energy to targeted areas of the body.
It is a non-invasive treatment that aims to stimulate cellular activity and promote healing.
What Are The Benefits of Laser Therapy?
Laser therapy can help you in many ways. When you have laser therapy at our Niagara Falls clinic, it can help speed your recovery time. It can also help decrease your need for pain medication. During a therapy session, you will feel a soothing warmth/heat to your area of concern. If you are a good candidate for treatment, it can be an excellent addition to your chiropractic treatment plan.
Is Laser Therapy Safe?
When you receive a laser treatment offered by a professionally trained health care provider, laser is safe for you.
Your WIN Chiropractor will take a complete history and assess any reasons why laser therapy may or may not be right for you.
Prior to incorporating it into your treatment plan, your WIN Chiropractor will ensure you understand what laser therapy is, go over any risks and benefits with you prior to using the machine, and provide safety eye protection to be worn during your therapy session.
How Often Do I Need Laser Therapy?
The frequency of your visits and how often you need laser therapy really does come down to you – your health concern, your individualized plan and your overall state of health. Your WIN Chiropractor will always assess your need with each visit and will share with you the treatment plan so you understand how often you will benefit from laser therapy.
