Providing Support

Is a multidisciplinary clinic like ours, new to you? Are you getting ready for your first visit or wanting to learn more about us? Read our FAQs below to learn more and find out what to expect during your visit.

Do I need a doctor's note to arrange a visit with a WIN practitioner?

A doctor’s note is not required to book a visit. Anyone can book a visit at any time. However, some insurance providers may require this for reimbursement Purposes. If you wish to use your benefits, we ask that you contact your insurance company to understand the details of your plan, the services you have coverage for and the amount of coverage you have.

Do I need a referral from a doctor or another health care provider to book a visit?

You do not need a referral to book a visit. However, your doctor, nurse practitioner or other complementary health care provider may recommend you visit us because they’ve seen how beneficial it is when we all work together.

Do insurance plans cover your services?

Most health insurance plans offer coverage for our services. If you wish to use your benefits, we ask that you contact your insurance company to understand the details of your plan, the services you have coverage for and the amount of coverage you can expect to receive, prior to your visit.

How should I dress for my visit?

Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Personal Training:
It is best to dress in loose comfortable clothing. This will help in your practitioner’s ability to assess your concern and offer some treatments. Your practitioner can also advise you for future treatments if you should wear something specific, such as shorts or a tank top, so they can better treat specific areas.
Naturopathic Doctor:
You may wear your preferred clothing. If acupuncture sessions are scheduled, then loose comfortable clothing and short sleeves would be ideal.

How long are the visits?

We do offer longer visit times than what you may experience in conventional medical visits, and this depends on the provider you are seeing. Typically a visit lasts anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes depending on what service you are having. Our Patient Experience Coordinators will relay to you the length of time for the visit booked.

What are the fees for your health services?

We strive to offer exceptional care for our patients, in addition to offering fair fees for our services so our health services are accessible to the people seeking our support. For more information about our fee schedule please contact our Patient Experience Coordinators who will gladly provide specific service information to you.

Are the WIN practitioners licenced?

Yes, all the health providers at our clinic are professionally licensed to practice through their respective Ontario regulating college.

I was referred to another clinic by my doctor, can I still come to WIN?

Absolutely! Medical doctors are often very busy and may not have the time to learn about all the different health clinics in the Niagara Region. We will offer you exceptional care and are happy to work with your doctor to support you in your care. With your consent, we can also communicate information that your doctor may require about your treatment and progress.

What is your cancellation/no-show policy?

Please note that we require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an existing appointment.  Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice or “no shows”, may be subject to a cancellation fee in the full amount of the service booked.  Our service providers are independent contractors and a no-show or late cancellation result in lost wages.

We understand that at times, certain circumstances do not allow for 24 hours’ notice.  In this case, we offer patients a “grace” cancellation.  Please speak with our Patient Experience Coordinators or your WIN health provider for more details.

What is your privacy policy?

The primary purpose for collecting personal information is to provide comprehensive treatment. Our privacy policy is in accordance with the Freedom of information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) of Ontario and the federal Privacy Act.
