About Shauna, WIN Niagara Yoga Instructor

Shauna took up yoga only a few years ago as she had chronic lower back issues and wanted an activity that would be gentle on her body while building strength.   She went to her first yoga class and began noticing how much more energy, and calmness she felt as well as how much she was standing taller and feeling stronger. 

While she taught group strength classes and personal training many years, she felt that yoga would be the next step.  Last year, she embarked on a journey … having had two major surgeries and needing a place to release stress, calm her mind, recover and rebuild strength and flexibility in a gentle way, she found her way back on the mat and felt her mind telling her she should take some formal training so she could share this knowledge.

Shauna found YogaFit – and loved the concept of including everyone no matter their physical level.  Shauna obtained her Level One certification and was hooked! She went on be Level Two, Senior/Chair yoga and soon to be Pre-natal yoga certified.  Shauna has brought her knowledge to elementary schools, the community, private classes and home based classes. 

She is happy to bring this beginner Hatha Yoga class to WIN. It will be in a vinyasa style, which includes flowing one posture into another. All beginners are welcome, as are those who have practiced yoga and are interested in participating in a gentle yoga class.
